Terms and conditions

  • New clients will be required to read and agree to Woof and Whiskers Terms and Conditions outlined here. In making a booking with us, you will be agreeing to the Terms and Conditions.

  • An initial meet and greet is required before booking any services with us. This is free of charge and helps us to understand your dog's personality, habits and enables us to provide a tailored service.

  • You will be paying for services provided by Woof and Whiskers. Payments will be discussed but are to be paid weekly in advance unless agreed otherwise, via cash or bank transfer. If payments are not made on time no further services will be carried out until full payment is made.

  • We understand that sometimes your plans can change at short notice and we will try to be as flexible and understanding of cancellations as possible.  We ask that you try to give us the following notice of any cancellations where possible:

  • 5 working days’ notice for a weekly rolling booking

  • 24 hours notice for an ad-hoc booking

  • Cancellations given in less than the times specified will incur a full charge.

  • Should Woof and Whiskers need to take absence due to illness, no fee will be charged for these cancellations and you will be refunded any payments made for the dates in question. We will provide as much notice as possible for booked holidays.  You will be informed of cancellations due to illness as early as possible on the day.

  • If you have requested a specific time slot, please note that whilst we try our best to stick to this, it may be subject to change at short notice as small changes may need to be made to the day for reasons beyond our control. If your slot needs to be changed slightly, you will be notified of this change.

  • We hold valid, in date liability insurance and this can be shown to you upon request. We shall not be held responsible for damage or loss of property if your property is left unlocked by you or if keys are left in an insecure location.

  • If we are required to keep a key to your property, this will be held with no other information than the pet's name and a record will be kept of all keys provided.

  • In the event of an emergency, we reserve the right to act in the best interests of your pet at all times. This includes seeking veterinary advice if they become ill or injured. You will be contacted immediately in this event and if you cannot be contacted within a reasonable time, we will contact your emergency contact. If they are unavailable or cannot be contacted, we reserve the right to seek veterinary treatment and you agree that you are responsible for the cost of any veterinary treatment.

  • Woof and Whiskers will care for your dog as if they are our own and ensure that they are looked after exceptionally whilst in our care. However, Woof and Whiskers cannot be held liable for any loss, injury to or death of your dog whilst in our care.

  • Woof and Whiskers accepts no liability for any breach of security or loss of or damage to your property if any other person has access to the property during the term of this agreement.

  • All dogs must be fully vaccinated, including Kennel Cough and on a regular flea and worm control regime.  If you have had your dog vaccinated against Kennel Cough, they are unable to attend a walk with us until 7 days after the vaccination has been administered.

  • All dogs must be microchipped and have a suitable identity tag on either their collar or harness.

  •  It is agreed that the first walk for each dog is undertaken on a trial basis to ensure they are well-behaved, trained, socialised and suitable for group dog walks.

  • Woof and Whiskers reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if your dog does not respond well to other dogs in the pack or if they are not a suitable match for the pack they have been introduced to.

  • During the initial consultation, we will ask you whether you would prefer your dog to be walked on or off lead. All dogs will be walked on lead at first however once we have built a good relationship with your dog and with written permission, we will allow your dog off lead. All dogs will be walked off lead away from roads and livestock. By giving us written permission, you are agreeing that you understand the risks of dogs being off lead and will not hold Woof and Whiskers responsible if any harm comes to your dog if they do not recall when needed. If, for any reason we feel it is necessary for the safety of the dog, they will be kept on the lead.

  • In extreme heat or adverse weather conditions, it may not be safe to walk your dog and we may suggest alternative arrangements be made, such as a Drop in Visits.

  • We will make every effort to return your dog in a clean and dry state.  It is your responsibility to leave us a towel by the door and provide instructions on where to leave your dog if they are not fully dry.

  • We cannot provide any walks for bitches that are in season.
